Vision The Synod, 2021 - 2024 Pope Francis formally opened the Synod in Rome in October 2021. The overall theme is ‘For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, Mission’. The Synod of Bishops on Synodality will take place in two sessions: in October 2023 and October 2024. The first Synod of Bishops took place in October 2023. National Synthesis Bishops' Reflection on the Synodal National Synthesis October 2022: Publication of the document for the Continental Stage of the Synod “Enlarge the space of your tent” January 2023: The Archdiocese completed and submitted the Diocesan Response for the Continental Stage (DCS) February 2023: The Continental Assembly, part of the Catholic Church’s ongoing synodal journey, took place in Prague from 5-12 February.
