St Mary's College, Oscott

St Mary’s College, Oscott in Sutton Coldfield is our diocesan seminary. It is there that those aspiring to become priests or permanent deacons are educated in theology and scripture to prepare them for the priesthood or diaconate.

"If some of you hear the call to follow Christ more closely, to dedicate your entire heart to Him, like the apostles John and Paul, be generous, do not be afraid, because you have nothing to fear when the prize that you await is God himself." - Pope John Paul II

The college building, with its Pugin chapel and fascinating museum is also open to the public for guided tours

Even though it is much more than a building we are very proud of the buildings the seminary inhabits. You will find photographs and visitor information on the website.

You can read about the experiences of the seminarians and permanent deacons in formation, as well as their hopes for their future ministries in the different dioceses and religious congregations who chose Oscott to help form their deacons and priests.
