In his letter marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, Pope Leo XIV reminds Catholics that faith should inspire active citizenship and service to the common good. He says that Christians are called to be the “leaven” of society by faithfully serving God and their country, bringing Christ’s love, justice, peace and respect for human dignity into public life so that a true civilisation of love may grow.
