This September, Maryvale Institute launches two new Scripture courses, delivered in partnership with the Catholic Biblical School Ministry (CBSM), and a new course on the Sacrament of Marriage.

Biblical Studies Courses

A widespread consultation across the Church in England and Wales revealed what you want from us: the chance to study the Bible!

This September, Maryvale Institute launches two new Scripture courses, delivered in partnership with the Catholic Biblical School Ministry (CBSM): an Old Testament Covenant Year, journeying through the Historical Books from Genesis to 2 Maccabees, and a New Testament Encounter Year, through the Synoptic Gospels and Pauline Letters.

Pre-recorded teaching is joined by workbook exercises, recorded lectio divina, and live tutorials every six weeks — designed not as an academic exercise, but as an encounter with God through his Word.

28 weeks, starting 17 September 2026.

Fee: £475 (exam fee £170 extra, for those wishing to gain the certificate).

No prior biblical study required.

Sacrament of Marriage Diploma

“Nothing is more ordinary than marriage — and nothing more astonishing”

This September, Maryvale Institute launches a new course on the Sacrament of Marriage, uncovering what actually happens in this most familiar of sacraments: the graces of indissolubility, fidelity, and fruitfulness, traced from Scripture through the Church Fathers to today's teaching.

Six pre-recorded lessons are paired with a monthly live session led by a specialist — ideal for those in marriage preparation and pastoral ministry, priests wishing to accompany couples more deeply, and married couples wanting to see their own marriage afresh.

Six months, starting 15 September 2026.

Fee: £390. No prior study required.
