Pope Leo XIV to pilgrims from Denmark, Ireland, England, Wales, and Scotland on 5 July 2025
The Catholic Education Team works in partnership with teachers across our schools, providing advice, guidance, and training to help them live out God’s call through their vocation to education. Echoing Pope Leo’s call to nurture a living relationship with Christ, we help educators to inspire pupils to grow in faith, compassion, curiosity, and a desire for justice, so that together we form pilgrims of hope for the future.
Our Catholic Education Advisers are Rebecca Brolly, and David Harris. They work with all schools within the diocese in relation to all aspects of Catholic life and mission, religious education, and prayer and liturgy. The advisers provide CPDF, support and advice, and work with the Catholic Education Service to ensure the diocese is at the forefront of national initiatives and outstanding practice.
Our Chaplaincy Coordinator is Beccy Roseman. From the moment a school decides to appoint, the Chaplaincy Coordinator supports with strategy, advertising, shortlisting, interviewing and induction. We aim to support and train all Lay Chaplains in secondary schools, with bespoke training and tailored ongoing formation. In this way we ensure quality-control and a diocesan wide approach within your own school context.
Our Senior Adviser for CSI Inspections (CSI Coordinator) is Ben McArdle. Every Catholic school is inspected by the Catholic Schools Inspectorate under Canons 804-806 of the Code of Canon Law of the Catholic Church and Section 48 of the Education Act (2005). These inspections evaluate the outcomes, provision, and leadership of each school’s Catholic life and mission, religious education, and prayer and liturgy. Further information and documentation is available on the Catholic School Inspection page.
