For me, today was all about the sights, sounds and colours of the World Meeting of Families Pastoral Congress.

Thousands and thousands of people from across the world gathered in Dublin for the first of the three-day event.

Today's theme - The Family and Faith - enabled people of all ages to attend panels, workshops and activities, with dedicated spaces for teenagers and children to explore their faith.

Our very own Archbishop Bernard Longley also moderated a panel which focused on The Logic of Complementarity: Why Mothers and Fathers Matter in Amoris Laetitia, attracting guest speakers from the USA, France and Spain.

Visitors could explore the vast exhibition hall - where Birmingham's Maryvale Institute has a stand - and also take time out in the beautiful Our Common Home Garden and Our Common Home Prayer Space.

There was music and dancing, and an afternoon Mass, concelebrated by several of our clergy.
