For the past two years, the Diocesan Vocations Office has held competitions for those in our diocesan schools. Following the success of these, we have another chance for pupils in our schools to explore vocation through art. This year, we are also opening the competition to those in parishes, so that all our school-age young people can take part, with the opportunity to win prizes for themselves and their school or parish.

This year's theme is 'The Walk to Emmaus' and we're asking for pieces of artwork, using any medium, exploring this theme.

Entries will be judged on:

  • How clearly the artwork depicts or links to the account in Luke 23:13-35;
  • How well the image conveys a theme of vocation;
  • How inspirational the image is.

The prizes will be:

  • For the primary-age category winner – a 145 piece professional art set;
  • For the secondary age category winner – 104 piece all-media easel set;
  • For runners-up – a soft case of art materials;
  • For the winners’ schools/parishes – a handmade icon of the supper at Emmaus;
  • For the runners-ups’ schools/parishes – an icon of supper at Emmaus.

We look forward to seeing inspirational entries this year!
