Seamstresses are putting their nimble fingers to the test to make 300 PPE gowns and help raise funds for charity.

Jane Clarke MBE and a team of helpers have embarked on a sponsored sewing project to make the gowns for the NHS in Birmingham, at the same time as fundraising for the St Vincent de Paul (SVP) group based at Our Lady and St Kenelm.

All money raised will be used locally to provide essentials to those who are struggling with the impact of Covid-19.

Sponsorship donations are now being accepted on the Halesowen SVP JustGiving page, with the current total standing at £180. The target is £500.

Jane, who is the parish SVP Conference Vice President, said: “This seemed to provide a perfect opportunity to put our time to really good use during lockdown.

“We are helping the NHS with vital PPE supplies and raising money to meet the many needs which we see in our local community, made worse by the effects of this virus.”
