Latest News Notice of Death - Fr Patrick Joyce Please pray for the repose of the soul of Father Patrick Joyce who died on Wednesday 13 January, aged 83 years. Fr Pat was ordained on 8 January 1972 and served at Our Lady of Lourdes, Yardley Wood, from 1972 to 1974; at St John the Evangelist, Banbury from 1974 to 1980; at St Francis of Assisi, Handsworth from 1980 to 1981; at St Joseph, Nechells from 1981 to 1985 and SS Mary and John, Gravelly Hill, from 1985 until his retirement in 2017. We pray for Fr Pat’s family and friends and for all who mourn him, including the parishioners of SS Mary and John where he served as parish priest for 32 years. Reception of the Body and Mass at St Mary and St John, Gravelly Hill, Erdington, Birmingham, on Thursday 11 February at 6pm. The Funeral Mass will be at Erdington Abbey, Sutton Road, Erdington, on Friday 12 February at 10am. Archbishop Bernard Longley presiding. Burial at Oscott. The Reception and Funeral Mass will be celebrated in accordance with the current lockdown guidelines. The number of people who can attend is strictly limited.
