"The Coventry Deanery gathered for its Annual Vocations Mass at St Patrick’s Church, Bell Green.

The Coventry Vocations group began the initiative, 14 years ago and each year one of the three secondary schools in Coventry take it in turn to organise the event . This year the event was organised by Cardinal Wiseman School and the Romero Academy of which Cardinal Wiseman School is a member .

Archbishop Bernard Longley celebrated the Mass with 15 priests of the deanery. There were over 600 attending filling the large church built in 1969.

There was a creative liturgy with a film made by the children on the theme of Vocations, an assembled music group led the music and each school was represented with a banner in the entrance procession and framed art work at the offertory. The parish provided refreshments after the Mass giving people a chance to meet each other. Thanks to Fr George Bennett and the parishioners of St Patrick’s for being such good hosts”.
