A great new resource to use during this Year of Prayer is now available to parishes across the Archdiocese.

The Birmingham Edition of ‘We Dare to Say’, which looks at the petitions of the Our Father, is available to download here. A printed copy will also be shared with clergy over the coming weeks.

It is hoped the resource will be used by small groups within parishes to encourage parishioners to take part in a five-week programme focused on the Our Father.

Each session consists of prayer, scripture, meditation and exploring and reflecting on a theme.

Session 1 - OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME

Session 2 - THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN

Session 3 - GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD

Session 4 - FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES, AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US...

Session 5 - DOXOLOGY: FOR THE KINGDOM, THE POWER, AND THE GLORY ARE YOURS NOW AND FOREVER.

This latest resource, developed by the Bishops’ Conference and including a Foreword by Archbishop Bernard Longley, is one of many available for parishes to make use of in preparation for the 2025 Jubilee Year ‘Pilgrims of Hope’.

With a focus on the Our Father this presents us with a great opportunity to go back to the basics of prayer.
