Leadership vacancy notification

Leadership Vacancy Notification Form

The DES team should be informed as promptly as possible of any potential senior leadership vacancies that arise so that we can support and advise Boards, governing bodies and senor executive leaders throughout the process.  These posts include: Chief Executive Officers (CEO), Executive Principals/Headteachers, Principals/Headteachers, Deputy Principals/Headteachers, Heads of RE and Lay Chaplains as well as Chief Finance Officers(CFO) and Chief Operating Officers (COO).

As per Diocesan protocols, the Governing Boards must inform the Director of Education, at the earliest point, of any vacancies and of processes for recruitment to leadership positions, which in accordance with the Bishops’ Memorandum must be filled by a Practising Catholic (this also includes discussing with the Director of Education any plans for any temporary appointments and secondments).  For the avoidance of doubt, this applies to internal recruitment processes and scenarios where leadership positions are under review as part of any restructure.

Following notification of a senior leadership vacancy, you will be contacted by a DES colleague to arrange to discuss the vacancy and, where relevant, to agree an indicative timetable for the recruitment process, noting that a DES colleague will need to be engaged throughout the process.

If you have any questions prior to notifying us or if would like to discuss any particular leadership matters, or potential interim leadership solutions, please contact Ted Hammond: [email protected]
