2022 Pilgrimage, Saturday 14 May

Parishes are invited to join this year’s Pilgrimage to Walsingham after a two-year break.

On previous pilgrimages to Walsingham most people have travelled by coaches organised by their local parishes. Anyone who would like to take part in this year’s pilgrimage is advised to speak to their parish priest in the first instance, to join a coach organised locally.

Otherwise please contact Fr Philip Griffin, pilgrimage organiser, who may be able to put you in contact with a coach organiser.

This year’s programme:

Pilgrims are invited to arrive at the Shrine from 11am. There will be time for them to visit the Slipper Chapel and Chapel of Reconciliation, as well as the Shrine shop and café before Mass at 1pm, in the Chapel of Reconciliation. At 3pm, we begin the procession to the Priory ruins in the village which will conclude with a time of prayer at the site of the Holy House.

Mass will be celebrated by Fr Gwilym Lloyd, parish priest at St Anne's, Streetly and member of the Walsingham Shrine Council.

The preacher is Fr Michael Dolman, Rector of St Mary's College, Oscott.

The Shrine website provides detailed information about Walsingham and its significance as the National Shrine to Our Lady and a place of pilgrimage in pre-reformation England.
