The Olympic Cross and Peace 

Reflection for the 1st Sunday of Lent, 22 February 2026, “You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.” (Mt 4:10) by Mgr Daniel McHugh, Co-ordinator for Ethnic Chaplaincies in the Archdiocese of Birmingham. 

In this week's vlog Mgr Daniel looks at the beginning of Lent and the Olympics, especially through the document “Life in Abundance” from Pope Leo XIV and the Olympic Cross that has been displayed in Milan-Cortina.

A 10-minute pause to be still and reflect on our Mission with the help of scripture, music/song, pictures, a homily and Adoration intended to lead into personal prayer and action.
