The last three Popes have led the Church in thinking about what it means to be old, and the apostolate of older people in the life of the Church.

In this session we will look together at some of the key insights that have been emerging and the challenge that we have been given to ‘invent’ a new way of serving God in old age.

Peter Kevern is Professor of Values in Health and Social Care at Staffordshire University and a member of St George’s parish.

He specialises on research into Religion and Dementia, but recently completed a two-year research project with Caritas Social Action Network on Ageing and the Church. This evening’s presentation builds on insights gained from that project.

The talk is organised by Worcester Circle of Newman Association
