The Provost of Birmingham Oratory, Father Ignatius Harrison was the guest homilist at a Solemn High Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Cannock Rd., Wolverhampton.

On the Feast of the Chair of St Peter Fr Harrison spoke about how God will always protect His Church, even in times of turbulence.  He cited the disedifying papacy of Pope John XII (955-964).  That pope was a source of great scandal, and yet the Church survived and her mission continued.  Our personal response to the turbulence must always be to deepen our prayer life and to renew our faithfulness to Christ.
