A small group of Hednesford parishioners and friends of the shrine walked from Lichfield Cathedral to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Hednesford on Saturday 26th September. Watch video below:

Before the walk, they said:

We are walking to raise funds to improve security and safety at the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in Hednesford and the work of Pye Green Christian Centre for the homeless in our area. .

Bishop David McGough, an Ecumenical Canon of Lichfield Cathedral, and the Very Reverend Adrian Dorber, the Dean of Lichfield Cathedral, will bless us on our way.

We will be joined on the walk by Monsignor Timothy Menezes, the Dean of St. Chad’s Cathedral in Birmingham and a good friend of the Shrine.

Our walk forms part of the Two Saints Way. In the Middle Ages Pilgrims travelled the 92-mile route between the Cathedral Cities of Chester and Lichfield and would have visited the shrines of St Werburgh at Chester, St Wulfad in Stone and St Chad in Lichfield. We hope to walk other stages of the Pilgrimage Way in the future.
