The faithful of the Stafford Deanery gathered at St Dominic's in Stone in preparation for the canonisation of Blessed John Henry Newman.

The Mass on Sunday 6 October was concelebrated by the priests of the deanery with a welcome to all parishioners who had made the journey.

Fr Gerard Doyle and the parishioners of St Dominic’s hosted the event, which included refreshments after Mass.

John Henry Newman was made a Saint a week later, Sunday 13 October, in Rome.
