Pupils at St Alban's Catholic Primary School had a nice surprise in the post recently - a letter sent on behalf of HM The Queen.

Pupils in Year 1 (age six and seven) of the school, in Kings Heath, Birmingham, wrote to Her Majesty during lockdown and were very pleased to receive a letter from her Lady in Waiting.

Many children of key workers were attending school during lockdown and like pupils working at home were learning about London, the London landmarks and the Royal Family.

So the children decided to write to the Queen and tell her about what they had been learning about during their topic 'Bright Lights, Big City'.

The children created a letter together over Zoom lessons. The children working at home wrote individual letters whilst the children in school sent one together.
