Mark Brandon has taken up the post of Principal at St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery in Stafford, following the retirement of interim Headteacher, Cath Williams.

Mark joins the school with plenty of experience in education including seven years’ experience in senior leadership roles, most recently as Deputy Headteacher at St Joseph’s Primary School in Rugeley.

St Patrick’s is one of 13 primary schools in The Painsley Catholic Academy, one of the largest local multi-academy companies in the area.

Mark started in his role this month (June), implementing a safe return to school for some of the children with new rules imposed to prevent any risk of the spread of Covid-19.

Although Mark recognises it is a challenging time for all schools, he has a clear vision for the future of the St Patrick’s.

“St Patrick’s is a school with enormous potential and as we strive to fulfil this, any developments that are made in the future will always be for the best interests of the children,” said Mark.

“I am proud to have joined a team that is already hard-working and committed to each and every one of the children in its care.

"I hold a strong belief in the power of education to change children’s lives and the right of every child to receive an excellent education.

"I am dedicated to building opportunities for students to achieve their highest academic standards, ensuring that they grow as individuals and that their unique personality, talents and interests are nurtured and developed to the full."
