Karl Brown has been appointed as the new Principal at Blessed William Howard Catholic High School in Stafford.

Karl has taken up his post this week and will be leading the school during an exciting new era as it becomes part of one of the largest Multi-Academy Companies (MAC) in the country.

This follows the merger of the Holy Trinity Catholic Multi-Academy Company and Painsley Catholic Multi-Academy on 1st September.

The new MAC will allow Blessed William Howard to work in partnership with Painsley Catholic College, an ‘Outstanding’ school which is the top performing high school in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, as well as ranking in the top 5% of secondary schools nationally.

Bringing with him extensive outstanding teaching practice, Mr Brown also has substantial experience of senior leadership in secondary Catholic education.

He will be working closely with Steve Bell, former Principal at Painsley Catholic College and recently appointed Chief Executive of the expanded Painsley Catholic Multi-Academy Company.

Mr Brown said: “I am delighted to be taking up this role at such an exciting time. The MAC offers new opportunities to work and develop together and to support each other to achieve common goals for all students.

“Together, I am sure we will grow, secure the very best learning opportunities and continually strive for world class standards for every student at Blessed William Howard.

“As Principal, I will continue to place great emphasis on the highest standards of conduct and learning.

“In September, we are introducing a new, innovative curriculum designed to meet the needs of every student and build on their individual successes.

“Students work will be set according to their ability level and study subjects that stretch their academic ability to the full. I see every lesson as an opportunity for success!”

The new expanded Painsley Catholic Academy includes two high schools and 13 primary schools.
