Divine Mercy at Birmingham Oratory

Divine Mercy celebrations took place in a very prayerful and reflective manner at Birmingham Oratory on Sunday.
 
During the event, hymns were sung, the Divine Mercy Litany was recited.
 
At 3pm everyone reflected on Our Lord’s Passion and Death on the Cross, and following this the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Later, the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary were said.
 
Before and during the event, many of those present took advantage of the five confessionals available.
 
Everyone was then invited to come to the front and venerate an image of the Divine Mercy, after which the Blessed Sacrament was exposed for Adoration.
 
St Faustina, wrote in her diary that Jesus said to her, "I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners (...). I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment; on that day all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet" (Diary, 699).
 
"Even if a soul were like a decaying corpse so that from a human standpoint, there would be no hope of restoration and everything would already be lost - it is not so with God. The Church grants a Plenary Indulgence to those who take part in these devotions on this day, subject to the usual conditions.
