It was a wonderful celebration for all at St Mary's on the Hill in Wednesbury as Fr Paul Lester marked three decades as a parish priest.

Fr Paul was ordained by Bishop Leo McCartie (who was a Curate at St Mary's many years ago!) at the Oratory, Birmingham, on 25 November 1989.

A parish celebration was held on Sunday (24 Nov) with the 30th Anniversary of Ordination falling on Monday (25 Nov).

In this short video Fr Paul reflects on his 30 years as parish priest, his call to priesthood and his journey so far.

"To be able to bless, to heal, to teach, to console, to reconcile everyone, in the name of Jesus, is the greatest joy a priest can have," he said. "Today, God renews the joy of my youth, so thank you all, pray for me."
