On the weekend of Saturday 29 June and Sunday 30 June 2019, events will be taking place across the West Midlands to celebrate the Mayor’s Community Weekend.

The aim of this is to celebrate diversity and bring people together – The National Lottery Community Fund and West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) want to encourage people to go out, engage in their local communities and increase social interaction.

You can apply for grants of up to £500 to fund either the full cost of a small event, or as a contribution towards the cost of a larger event.

Who can apply?

Anyone – whether you’re a fully constituted organisation, a small informal group that already exists, or even just a few people from a local community coming together for the first time. The event must take place in one of these areas within the West Midlands:

Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Walsall, Warwickshire, Wolverhampton, Worcestershire

The events most likely to be considered are the ones that:

·       Bring different communities together

·       Celebrate diversity

·       Involve people in the design and delivery of the event.

The Mayor’s Community Weekend is open for applications from 9am on Friday 22 February 2019 to 9pm on Sunday 17 March 2019.
