In the heart of Birmingham City Centre on February 17th, 2024 between 75 and 80 Catholic men led by Ben Thatcher, knelt down to publicly express their faith by praying the Rosary as requested by Our Lady of Fatima for the conversion of the world.  This was the fourth time in the last 12 months that the Rosary in the City has taken place and there has been so many visible fruits.  Many passers-by stop to pray, ask questions, receive a Rosary because our Holy Mother can touch us in a profound and powerful way.

The prayer intentions of the men this Lent were for men to reconnect with Our Lady and the Church, to conform to God’s will, by spreading the Gospel and showing others what it means to be a man, to be present, living and defending God’s truth.

We are living at the crossroads of history.  Christianity in general is suffering the negative consequences of the secularisation process, as Christian morals are put aside as no longer relevant in modern society.  The devastating effect of this ongoing process is quite noticeable in many areas of life: increased criminality, broken families, explosion of pornography and abortion rates at a record high.

So today, more than ever we need to keep the Fatima message close to our hearts by fostering and promoting Christian values in the family and society in general.  Our Lady of Fatima asked repeatedly that we pray, an important tool to obtain peace and the conversion of sinners.  Meditating on the joyful, sorrowful, glorious, and luminous mysteries of the Rosary brings us into closer union with Christ, Our Lord, who is our only hope.

We would encourage all parishes, especially those in and around Birmingham to join us for our next Rosary in May.
