The annual Day of Prayer for Eastern Christians took place on the Sixth Sunday of Easter (Sunday, 9th May 2021), with the participation of Christians from all over Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, the Horn of Africa and India.

On Saturday and Sunday 8-9 May, the Day of Prayer for Eastern Christians, parishes had a second collection for Fellowship and Aid to the Christians of the East (FACE) charity, with whom the Archdiocese is building a strong relationship. In particular, schools in the Archdiocese have started a pen friend initiative with Immaculate Conception school in Beirut, a school damaged by the 2020 Beirut explosion.

The schools project is in collaboration with FACE charity with the following schools: Immaculate Conception School, Rmeil, Ashrafieh, Beirut, Lebanon. St Vincent de Paul, Catholic Primary School, Liverpool, St Paul’s School for Girls Birmingham St Paul’s Catholic Primary School, Kings Norton, Birmingham.
