Welcome Message from the Archbishop of Birmingham, His Grace Bernard Longley

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to this new-look website for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham.

Speaking on the importance of Communications, Pope Francis reminded us recently that the digital world is a vital place of meeting and encounter which he describes as a gift from God. As a gift, our website offers a unique window into the life of the local church as well as an opportunity to share our Catholic faith more widely. I do, therefore, thank our Communications team and all those involved in facilitating this new website.

Whether you are a first-time or a frequent visitor to this website, I hope that you will enjoy the opportunity to learn more about the Archdiocese through the regular posts and news from around our parishes and schools. The website also allows you to access more general and practical information if you wish to contact a local parish church or project, together with contact details for our curial offices (e.g. Finance office, Safeguarding, Communications, Marriage Tribunal or Vicar General’s office) who support the life and mission of the Church within the Archdiocese.

As this Easter Season unfolds and we continue to celebrate the joy of new life through Our Lord’s resurrection, I assure you of my prayers and kindest wishes.

Yours sincerely in the Lord,
