Diocesan/Parish Year of Prayer events and Jubilee Year events

Sacred Heart, Henley-on-Thames

A seven-week course on the 'Our Father', starting Tuesday 13 February.

The talks will take place in the church on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm to 8.30pm and will also be live streamed and recorded.

Tuesday 13 Feb = The Our Father. The model of prayer. Fr Michael leads us through the Our Father as a model of all prayer, offering us an overview of the following weeks.

Tuesday 20 Feb = The Our Father. Our Father who are in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Canon Paul explores the holy name of God, and the singular gift to Christians, that we may call God our Father in the midst of the Church.

Tuesday 27 Feb = The Our Father. Thy Kingdom Come. Fr Michael explores our joyful hope in the coming of the Lord, and how we are called to build God’s kingdom on earth; both by our lives and witness and a special care for the poor, Justice and Peace.

Tuesday 5 Mar = The Our Father. Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven. Canon Paul discusses how the Church is called to intercede for the world, as well as the nature of intercessory prayer.

Tuesday 12 Mar = The Our Father. Give us this day our daily bread. Fr Michael examines the link between prayer and the Eucharist.

Tuesday 19 Mar = The Our Father. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Fr Michael
examines the link between prayer and reconciliation.

Tuesday 26 Mar = The Our Father. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Canon Paul faces the reality of evil, which is doing very well at this time.
