Helping and caring for our less able pilgrims in the Accueil has always been central to our pilgrimage.
The pilgrimage would not be possible without the wonderful helpers who give their time and dedication to the pilgrimage. The volunteers are collectively known as the Birmingham Hospitalite and comprise of the following:
Handmaids – the name given to female volunteersBrancardier – means 'stretcher-bearer' and is the name given to male volunteersNurses - qualified nurses are essential to the trip- the more nurses we have, the more pilgrims we can support.Doctors - Could you help to provide clinical leadership to the clinical teams who accompany the pilgrimage?
If you would like to volunteer as a Helper please mark the appropriate box on the Booking Form and the relevant Head of Department will contact you.
In order to comply with Diocesan Safeguarding Guidelines ALL Helpers who are or will be 18 years of age before 1st June, 2020 must complete a Diocesan DBS form. Please note that current Diocesan DBSs are still valid.
