We have a new and exciting role within the Archdiocese of Birmingham to support our newly formed cluster of parishes in the Wolverhampton Area.

St Newman’s cluster is looking to appoint a Strengthening Community Officer who will be responsible for building connections with key members of the parishes and the surrounding communities.  The role will have a strong focus on community engagement therefore experience in delivering community based schemes and outreach work. Experience of working with a diverse range of audiences and stakeholders, would be an advantage.

You will need a background in community engagement and development, and strong communication skills and experience of working with various public and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with diverse communities in a development capacity to increase social action. Working actively to enhance the leadership capacity of community/parish members to support and deliver community activities.

Be confident in working with a range of community based voluntary sector partners alongside the church and its parishioners.

Be IT literate with the ability to write and deliver concise progress reports.

You will be required to work flexibly when the need arises to cover occasional evening and weekend work.
