Pilgrimage for the Planet

Sunday 15 September

Starts 11.30am at Blackfriars Priory, St Giles. Ends at 2pm at St Frideswide Church, Botley Road.

Everyone is welcome. Please bring a picnic lunch.

Set off from Blackfriars after 9.30am Mass. (approx 11.30am). Blessing on our pilgrimage from one of the brethren. 

Prayers will be said at each stop along the way.

This event is organised by the Laudato Si' Circle which meets at Blackfriars, Oxford.

1st stop: 
Barclays.

Pray that Barclays, and other financial institutions funding the fossil fuel industry, urgently change their ecocidal policies and invest in a greener and fairer future for all.

Pray for all Catholic dioceses in England and Wales to divest permanently from fossil fuels. Give thanks that Christian Aid has announced that they will no longer bank with Barclays.

Pray for all charities, councils and pension funds to divest from fossil fuels and cease banking with Barclays.

2nd stop: 
Oxford University Catholic Chaplaincy.
Young people who are facing an uncertain future in a rapidly warming world.

3rd Stop: 
Christchurch.
Involvement of the Christian churches.

4th Stop: 
Folly Bridge.
The pollution of the Thames.

5th stop: 
The Edgar George Wilson Memorial.
Those who risk their lives to save others and to protect our common home.

6th stop:
Osney Lock Hydro.
Ground-breaking green initiatives leading the way to a fairer future.

7th stop:
St Frideswide Church.
Courage to keep fighting for climate justice and the faith not to give up hope.
