A large gathering of Knights and their families attended the KSC Province 18 Centenary celebration Mass.

The principal celebrant on Saturday 29 June was the Rt Rev Philip Pargeter, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Birmingham; assisted by the Vicar General, Mgr Timothy Menezes; Provincial Chaplain Fr Jeremy Howard and Deacon Rev Keith Millage.

Music for the Mass was provided by Professor David Saint, the Cathedral Director of Music.

For many years Bishop Pargeter was the Order’s Ecclesiastical Advisor.

Due to unforeseen circumstances St Chad’s Cathedral was closed, and so Mass was celebrated in the neighbouring Grimshaw Room.

But nevertheless it was a wonderful service. Supreme Knight Bro Bertie Grogan and Supreme Director for Spirituality & Welfare, Bro Sean Mulligan, made the trip from London, and the Past Director for Spirituality & Welfare Bro Peter Simms Comber came from Cardiff.

During the Mass there were two new initiations of members into the Order, and six knights were elevated to Full Knighthood.

During the initiation ceremony, all the knights with the new initiates recited the Knights Oath.

This was also done during the elevation to full knighthood ceremony when the they recited the Renewal of the Oath.

It was also announced that Province 18 of the Knights is hoping to open a new Council in Stratford on Avon in the near future.
