This year, the late Bank Holiday at Birmingham Oratory was an occasion of great joy, because it coincided with the Feast of St Philip Neri, the Patriarch of the Oratory

The Feast normally takes place on 26th May, but because this year it was within the Octave of Pentecost, it was transferred to the following Monday.

After the Solemn High Mass, celebrated for this feast according to the 1962  Missal for the first time in over 50 years at the Oratory, there was an opportunity be venerate a relic of the Patriarch.

The photograph shows the Veneration of the Relic which was taken out of the reliquary (right)

Normal Sunday Mass times at the Oratory are:

8.30 a.m. (English)

10.30 a.m. Solemn High Mass (Traditional Latin according to the 1962 Missal)

12.00 (English)

5.30 p.m. (English)

There is also normally Vespers and Benediction at 4.30 p.m. on Sundays.
