On Friday 6th September Cardinal Newman Catholic school marked the anniversary of its 50th year by gathering together as a community of faith to celebrate Mass.

Staff and students were joined by past staff and special guests for the Mass celebrated by Archbishop Bernard Longley and con celebrated by Fr Dominic Coslett, Fr Pat Brennan, Fr Desmond Devenney and Canon Tom Farrell.

The liturgy was beautifully led by the students who worked very hard in preparation for the music, readings, serving, and welcoming clergy and visitors to the school.

It was a chance for the school to reflect upon the upcoming canonization of Blessed John Henry Newman as Archbishop Bernard Longley explored a number of his teachings especially his motto 'Heart speaks unto heart'.

We are extremely grateful to our clergy for celebrating this Mass with us and excited that during our 50th year we will be celebrating the imminent Sainthood of our patron.
