Memorial Mass for Mother Tekla

Mgr Daniel McHugh, Diocesan Ethnic Chaplaincy Co-ordinator, presided and preached at a Memorial Mass for Mother Tekla, former Superior General of the Bridgettine Sisters, who died recently.

Mother Tekla established the Bridgettine Convent at Maryvale Institute in 1999.

The Memorial Mass was held at Maryvale Institute Chapel on Wednesday 18 March.

Mother Tekla was responsible for a great expansion of the presence of the Sisters across the world. In her time new Convents were established in India, Estonia, Cuba, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Maryvale and Holywell. May she rest in peace.
