Meet the Punjabi Chaplaincy

The Punjab community is one of 23 Ethnic Chaplaincies, Eparchies and Missions in the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

The Chaplaincy has its origins in the 1960s, when people from the Indian Punjab came to live in the Midlands.

The Catholic Punjabi Community in the UK is looked after by Fr George Waraich, their Chaplain, who celebrates Mass in the Punjabi language on a regular basis in Birmingham, Coventry, Bedford and at times in Nuneaton, and makes pastoral visits to Oxford and Southall as well.

Fr George is also Parish Priest at St Anne’s in Nuneaton and is supported by a strong body of Catholic lay people.
