A packed Carter's Lane Baptist Church was delighted to welcome Dudley’s Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Alan and Mrs Win Taylor, and Archbishop Bernard Longley on an historic occasion earlier this month.

The Mayor explained that the visit of a Roman Catholic Archbishop to a Baptist Church was a highly significant event for the area.

It showed the importance of churches working together.

Young and old at Carter's Lane Baptist Church celebrated the annual harvest festival with an inspirational address from the Archbishop, and the opportunity to share several hundred pounds worth of food with the Halesowen Food Bank.

The Archbishop described the visit as a wonderful opportunity to share in the weekend service.
