Calling all Catholic secondary schools and academies!

The Catenians annual Public Speaking Competition is now open and taking entries.

Organised by the Catenian Association, students are encouraged to talk for four minutes to be in with a chance of winning £100 for themselves, and £100 for their school.



List of subjects for the competition:

1. The Pen is mightier than the sword

2. Does ‘Social Media’ have a future?

3. Abortion ends human life

4. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

5. There is no such thing as Bad Art

6. Men and Women can never be truly equal

7. Money is the root of all evil

8. Celibacy for Catholic Clergy should be optional

9. There is no such thing as a just war

10. Are freedom fighters Terrorists?


The competition will take place on Sunday 7 April 2019 at 2pm.
