To mark Anti-Slavery Day this Sunday (18 Oct 2020) the Medaille Trust is inviting you to take part in a series of interactive webinars.

Seize the opportunity to boost your knowledge, raise your awareness and join the fight against modern slavery in your communities.

Anti-Slavery Day is on Sunday 18 October, and on the days that follow the Trust will be hosting five free webinars.

Running alongside will be a virtual photographic exhibition called Unmasked, which features Medaille Trust clients and photographer Fiona Yaron-Field.

The Trust began in 2006 and is the largest provider of safe accommodation in the UK for victims of modern slavery ensuring refuge and freedom.

It works in partnership with many organisations, including the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

In February 2019 the ‘Look Up’ awareness campaign was launched and as part of this call to action Garry Smith, CEO of the Medaille Trust, and Archbishop Bernard Longley signed a pledge to work together for the benefit of those suffering from modern slavery.

To date 20 Parishes across the Archdiocese have hosted talks by the Trust - which can now be delivered online given the continuing pandemic.

Like many events this year Anti-Slavery Day will be marked online.

The five webinars will cover: Why We Exist; Spot the Signs of Modern Slavery; Medaille Virtual Open Day; Ask the Experts and How Can You Get Involved? They run from Monday 19 to Friday 23 October.

These events are free and you can register now

"We’ve enjoyed working alongside colleagues, clients and Fiona to put together a series of interactive webinars and an amazing photographic exhibition around the issue of modern slavery in communities today," said Marc Pearson, Community Engagement Coordinator for the Medaille Trust.

"Together we can end modern slavery. We look forward to seeing you there."

Please support the work of the Medaille Trust and get involved today.

You can also watch a video which talks about our determination to keep our accommodation open during the pandemic.
