The first Encounter event has taken place at St Peter’s Church in Leamington Spa.

Around 20 young people recently gathered together for pizza, games, praise and worship.

A talk and discussion was facilitated by Birmingham diocese seminarian, Deacon Sean Gough, who spoke about Paul encouraging Timothy to fight the good fight of faith, and encouraged the young people to think about how they can share their faith with others.

The evening finished with the opportunity for prayer using creative prayer stations.

This Warwick Deanery youth event was organised by the youth team at the Catholic Parishes of Leamington and Warwick, headed by Emma Rayment, youth leader.

Aimed at the 13-30 age group, Encounter is designed to give young people the opportunity to make friends, to build-up their faith and to take time to encounter Jesus personally.

The next Encounter evening will take place on Friday 6 December, 6.30 – 9pm, at Dormer Place conference centre, St Peter’s Church, Leamington Spa.
