Hours: 17.5 (flexible hours with some occasional weekend/evening working)

Salary: £28000 pro rata (based on FTE of 35 hours)

Location: Central Birmingham with travel to partners within Birmingham

Length of Contract: Three years (subject the successful 3 month probation period), extension possible subject to funding

The Communitas Wellbeing Project is a Birmingham City Council and Lottery funded multi-faith project in Birmingham.

The project brings together groups from different communities to help improve wellbeing and tackle isolation amongst the elderly population of their communities. 

The project provides opportunities for social interaction, assessment and support of needs, chances for education and skills training, and regular opportunities to get advice from experts to help people with their wellbeing. 

The project targets over 55s and mainly draws its participants from the communities the partner organisations serve, mainly those from Pakistan, Ireland and elsewhere, but are open to all living within the local community.

This project will be run by Birinus and delivered by a cross cultural and faith consortium consisting of: Birmingham Irish Association in Digbeth; Muslim Education Consultative Committee (MECC) in Balsall Heath; English Martyrs Roman Catholic Church in Sparkbrook and Ward End Asian Elders Association (WEAE).
