Father Guy Nicholls is a priest of the Birmingham Oratory, founded by Newman, whose life and work he has studied deeply.

Fr Guy is the Founder and Director of the John Henry Newman Institute of Liturgical Music.

Born in Wolverhampton in 1955, Fr Guy holds degrees in Classics and Theology from Cambridge, Rome and Oxford.

Fr Guy’s latest book on Newman* will have been published on Sunday 13 October, the day that Cardinal John Henry Newman will be declared a Saint by Pope Francis.

Fr Guy will be in Rome to celebrate this auspicious occasion, the first English person to be declared a saint since the 16th and 17th century Reformation martyrs were canonised in the late 20th century.

Refreshments will be available in the large church hall at St Michael’s.

There is a large car park at the rear of the church.
