The Thanksgiving Mass 2020 will be celebrated on Saturday 7th March 2020 by Bishop David McGough in St Chad’s Cathedral at 12 noon. Followed by refreshments in the Grimshaw Room.

For those servers who plan to attend, please bring your normal serving attire and be sure to wear your medals. Priests and Deacons to vest in purple (Saturday in Lent). Aim to arrive in plenty of time to vest in the crypt with your parish group, ensuring a place in the procession into the cathedral.  Please direct family members and other non-vesting guests to sit in the side aisles only, as the seating in the main body of the cathedral will be reserved for vested servers and all this space will be needed. Please ensure servers travel as light as possible as there is limited room and the cathedral takes no responsibility for personal items left in the crypt, which will be locked during the Mass.

Car parking in the cathedral car park is limited and many places are reserved.  There are plenty of on-street parking places and multi-storey parking close by.  Please be in contact if you require disabled access.

PARENTS PLEASE NOTE: A group photograph will be taken and may be used for publicity purposes on social media/websites.  If any parents do not wish their child to be photographed, they must instruct their child not to take part in this.  They will have the opportunity whilst the final procession moves to get into place for them to leave their seating place and wait at the back of the cathedral whilst the photograph is being taken.

Please confirm your attendance with Kathryn or call 0121 321 5144 by 14th February with numbers of servers, concelebrating priests, deacons, and any extra family members attending.

Your help with informing us of your attendance is appreciated.
