The Catenians annual Public Speaking Competition is now open and taking entries for 2020.

Organised by the Catenian Association, students are encouraged to talk for four minutes to be in with a chance of winning £100 for themselves, and £100 for their school.

This year's competition will be held on Sunday 29 March at Hagley Catholic High School, Brake Lane, Hagley, Stourbridge, DY8 2XL at 2.30pm.

The suggested list of subjects to choose from for the competition:
    
1. Is climate change reversible?
2. The dangers of the internet.
3. Being Kind to Nature matters.
4. The value of exercise for your health.
5. Abortion ends human life.
6. Voting for 16 year olds is debateable.
7. Should the Catholic Church have married Priests and Nuns?
8. What is a vocation?
9. Free speech must be upheld in Universities.
10. Immigration should be controlled.
11. Can Media rule peoples lives?
12. Why are Christians the most persecuted people on earth?
