From parishioner Mick Moran:

On Sunday 6th October Fr John Laybourn and the Parish of St Mary's are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Solemn Blessing of the Church in Norton-le-Moors following the move from Brierley Street, Smallthorne, in 1969.

There will be a procession before Mass from the old site to the current Church (0.6km) leaving at 9.15am, led by Deacon Dave, then we have Holy Mass at 10am celebrated by Bishop David McGough.

This will be followed by a tea and coffee reception in our school.

At around 12.15pm we will move to Smallthorne Community Centre for lunch and live entertainment, plus a quiz and pub games.

The cost of the two-course hot buffet lunch (which includes a drink) is: U5's free; 5-12 & over 80's £5; adults £10.

If you wish to join the Parish Social please sign up so we can confirm numbers for the lunch by end of September, and please provide any dietary needs.

Everyone is warmly invited, especially our former parishioners, to join the procession, Mass, reception and social event - please pray that we have a joyful and memorable day.
