Pastoral Areas

The Archdiocese of Birmingham comprises the following areas: Birmingham, Berkshire (North of the Thames), Coventry, Dudley, Oxfordshire (North of the Thames), Sandwell, Solihull, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Warwickshire, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Worcestershire. It is divided into three Pastoral Areas:

Central and Western Pastoral Area

THE CENTRAL & WESTERN PASTORAL AREA SERVES THE FOLLOWING DEANERIES:

Birmingham (Cathedral, North, South and East)
Kidderminster
Worcester

AREA BISHOP: Pending an appointment

Key responsibilities:
Affirm & strengthen Catholic life in the Pastoral Area
Represent the Archbishop locally
Facilitate initiatives to strengthen and encourage the life of deaneries and parishes
Carry out formal visitations to parishes
Celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation

Northern Pastoral Area

THE NORTHERN PASTORAL AREA SERVES THE FOLLOWING DEANERIES:
Dudley
Lichfield
North Staffordshire
Stafford
Walsall
Wolverhampton
